The wine is made from a very high quality Pinot Noir grape, the vineyard has mede an excellent Pinot Noir red wine for some years and as the grapes have aged the the quality of the grape has improved. This has now allowed the Rose to be produced.
Food Matching: This wine will work really well with fish and shellfish, especially in a nice creamy sauce where the acidity will cut through nicely. Failing that, forget the cooking and just enjoy this with great company, on a nice summers evening or around the fire if its not that warm!
Winbirri Wines are based in Surlingham, Norfolk. A sleepy unassuming village that dates back to Saxon times. You will find Lee Dyer and his father Steve running a small but extremely high quality wine business. From their farming traditions Steve planted a few vines to ‘See what they would do” and 8 years later we have the answer! Winbirri Wines is now run by Lee and they now have 25 acres under vine with a steadily growing output approaching 80,000 bottles per year. Over the years they have impressed the Judges at both the English and Welsh Wine Awards and the East Anglia Wine Awards with an aray of awards over the years.
Often asked where the name originates, it is from the Saxon words, Win meaning Wine and a Birri is an orchard.
